Sunflowers, Reimagined: Inside My Growing Series of Original Paintings

Sunflowers, Reimagined: Inside My Growing Series of Original Paintings

There's something about sunflowers that stops people in their tracks. Maybe it's the boldness — the way they turn toward light without apology. Maybe it's the nostalgia. Whatever it is, I've felt it my whole painting life, and this summer I'm leaning all the way in.

The Sunflower Series is a growing collection of original acrylic paintings, each one exploring a different side of a flower I never get tired of painting.

Why sunflowers?

Flowers have always been some of the most satisfying subjects to put down on canvas — the layering, the light, the way color behaves differently in every petal. But sunflowers have a particular energy. There are so many real varieties to draw from, ranging from the classic bright yellow blooms most people picture to deeper, richer, more unexpected hues. And then there are the ones I imagine — colors and forms that probably don't exist in nature, but feel like they should.

That's where it gets interesting.

The current collection

The series currently includes six originals, each named for the color and feeling at its heart:

Burst. Blaze. Golden. Halo. Honey. Ochre.

Each one is different — but they share the same energy. Bold, warm, alive.

What's coming

All summer long I'll be adding to the series — new sizes, new color stories, new price points. Whether you're looking for a statement piece or something smaller for a quiet corner, there will be something for you.

If you want to be the first to know when new paintings drop, join the list — collectors hear it here first.
